Central American Maize-Bean Systems and the Changing Climate
Higher temperatures and changes in rainfall patterns could transform the agricultural landscape of Central America, threatening the livelihoods of one million maize and bean farmers. This report exposes the risks of climate change to these two most-important food crops in Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.
This project was led by Catholic Relief Services, and involved the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) as principal partners.
