Youth
CRS believes that all youth have the capacity to be leaders and partners in efforts that produce positive changes in their own lives and in their communities.
About Youth
CRS believes that all young people, even those in the most vulnerable conditions and surrounded by violence and conflict, have the capacity to be leaders and partners in efforts that produce positive changes in their own lives and in their communities. Supporting young people to contribute to sustainable change on a large scale requires providing them with opportunities to develop their skills, exercise their agency, engage in their communities and build sustainable livelihoods. It also requires that government agencies, community organizations, and employers work together to create an environment that prepares and protects young people and enables them to participate in making decisions about their futures.
Using a positive youth development approach that builds on CRS’ approach to integral human development, CRS engages communities, local partners and governments to support young people around the world to realize their full potential. At CRS, youth programming is integrated into sectors, such as agriculture and livelihoods, education, health, and peacebuilding.
