Qualitative Assessment of How the 3B/4D Social Cohesion Approach Effects Disability-Related Social Exclusion

The Qualitative Assessment of How the 3B/4D Social Cohesion Approach Effects Disability-Related Social Exclusion in Zambia by CRS highlights the Inclusive Family Strengthening (IFS) project's significant impact on reducing disability-related social exclusion. The project utilized introspection, intragroup and intergroup connections, and action to foster empathy, acceptance, and support for children with disabilities. Key activities included home visits, public outreach, and advocacy for inclusive infrastructure, which led to improved community acceptance and support. The assessment revealed that caregivers and community members developed a deeper understanding of the rights and capabilities of children with disabilities, leading to increased social cohesion and reduced stigma. The project also emphasized the importance of accessible infrastructure and economic empowerment opportunities for families, further enhancing the quality of life for children with disabilities and their caregivers. Through these efforts, the IFS project successfully created a more inclusive and supportive environment for children with disabilities in Zambia.
