The elderly, who make up 18 percent of the Cuban population, are particularly impoverished and marginalized. Caritas Cuba, with support from Catholic Relief Services, provides basic necessities like food and laundry, and carries out workshops that ensure they have access to social protections, and can maintain autonomy and a role in their families and society. This is Edenia’s story.
