Shannon's role

Shannon Senefeld, Psy.D., is Senior Vice President, Overseas Operations. Dr. Senefeld manages CRS’ program quality division, ensuring all overseas programming meets the highest standards for impact and quality assurance in order to best meet the needs of the people we serve. She leads a team of highly skilled technical experts with a range of expertise, including Program Impact and Quality Assurance, Institutional Donor Engagement and Advancement, Systems and Operations, and Risk Management and Staff Safety.

Shannon's commitment to CRS

Dr. Senefeld began her work with CRS as an International Development Fellow in 2000 in Haiti. She stayed in Haiti after her fellowship, moving into program management as a Senior Program Manager. She returned to the U.S. to complete her doctorate before accepting another position with CRS in the Southern Africa Regional Office as Regional Technical Advisor, providing technical assistance to health and HIV programs. From there, Dr. Senefeld accepted consecutive positions within the Agency with increasing leadership and responsibility; Senior Technical Advisor for Global Health and Social Services, Project Director for a global USG grant that increased care for vulnerable children and Vice President for Program Impact and Quality Assurance. She is currently the Senior Vice President for Overseas Operations.

Education and other roles

Dr. Senefeld holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and is a licensed clinical psychologist. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical training at Neuropsychology Associates of Fairfax, the Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. She also completed post-doctoral training at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, where she specialized in children and family assessment and evaluation. Dr. Senefeld also holds a Master’s degree from Argosy University in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s degree in International Development from George Washington University, and two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and French from Indiana University, Bloomington.
