Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

James’ role

James Bond is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Catholic Relief Services. In this role, he oversees the Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Global Procurement and Internal Audit departments. He also leads Investments, Enterprise Risk Management and Impact Investing activities for CRS. He is responsible for coordinating all agency resource planning and allocation to support CRS’s strategic objectives and the stewardship of financial resources for this global organization. James is the executive staff lead to the CRS Board’s Budget and Finance Committee, Audit and Risk Management Committee and Investment Committee.

Previous experience

James brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience in both the non-profit sector and the international media industry. Prior to joining CRS, James was the Chief Financial Officer of WETA, the public television and radio organization serving the Washington, DC metro area and a major producing station for PBS. James was also the Chief Financial Officer for National Geographic Channels Worldwide and Chief Financial Officer for Fox International Channels, spending more than fifteen years in financial leadership at this global media organization. James began his career in media with Time Warner and later at Discovery Communications, in strategic planning and operations roles.

Education

James received his MBA in Finance and Marketing from New York University’s Stern School of Business, an MS in Statistics from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BS in Math from James Madison University.

James lives in Washington, DC, with his wife and two children. He is an active member of his parish, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in DC.
