Respect Life Month

Philip Laubner/CRS

October is Respect Life Month

As Catholics, we believe that every life is sacred, from the moment of conception until natural death. Every person is made in the image and likeness of God, and so each and every person has inherent dignity.

This is also the foundation of all Catholic social teaching:

Each year in October, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops launches a new theme for the year to help Catholics understand and honor the dignity of every human person. This year's theme is "Moved By Mercy." For resources, visit the USCCB's website.
