Biography

In Somalia, Kev manages a number of projects that cover urgent needs for communities there, including ones focused on health, nutrition, water and sanitation, peacebuilding, food security, and more.

Kev and his team also focus on building partnerships with local organizations and civil society members so local communities can be the ones to lead the charge toward a brighter future for Somalia.

Since working in Somalia, Kev has represented the country at international, federal, and local levels and has cultivated strong relationships with the humanitarian community in the country.

Kev is an international development economist who has been working in the humanitarian sector for more than 10 years. His experience spans organizations including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United National Development Programme (UNDP), Caritas Internationalis, and the Global Livingstone Institute.

He has led projects in Asia and South America but has been particularly focused on sub-Saharan Africa, where he has contributed to development and humanitarian projects in multiple countries including Chad, Senegal, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

Prior to joining CRS Somalia, Kev was the CRS East Africa region Technical Advisory for Global Food Crises, where he focused primarily on famine response and prevention in the Horn of Africa. Kev has led and supported frontline responses to disease outbreaks, natural disasters, conflict, and insecurity.

Kev has been actively following the volatile situation in Somalia throughout his career and is deeply passionate about contributing to the well-being and prosperity of its citizens.
