The School Lunch Project (SLP) implemented by CRS with funding from USDA, which supports over 90 vulnerable schools in the province. In partnership with World Food Programme (WFP) and the Ministry of Educations and Sports (MOES), SLP helps 4,000 students improve their literacy skills and meet student-cantered needs. CRS also employs the Formative Assessment Toolkit, enabling teachers to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of their instructional strategies. Additionally, the SLP serves as a cornerstone for the well-being of over 28,000 eager students across 249 schools. Over 3 million healthy and nutritious meals including fortified rice, lentils, fresh vegetable and canned fish, meticulously prepared to fuel young minds and bodies. This monumental effort is not just about alleviating hunger; it’s a concerted push towards enhancing educational outcomes and securing a future where food insecurity is a distant memory for the children of Laos.
