Community Engagement Manager
Since 2000 he has taught courses on Latino Cultural Awareness and Spanish Language at Grand Valley State University and Aquinas College in Michigan. He led the implementation of Latino lay-training programs while serving as Director of the Hispanic Ministry of the Diocese of Grand Rapids for 19 years.
He was also Chair of the Midwest Catholic Association of Hispanic Ministries and represented his colleagues within Episcopal Regions VI and VII (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio) within national organizations related to Hispanic affairs. He was co-founder of the Cultural Institute for Leadership in the Midwest (ICLM).
Luis has published articles related to Hispanic ministries and the migrant population. Together with his wife, he provides consulting services in multicultural and bilingual matters and currently lives in Chicago along with his three children Bianca, Luis and Rosalia.
