Shannon Senefeld

Dr. Shannon Senefeld is the Senior Vice President for Overseas Operations at Catholic Relief Services, ensuring international programs have maximum impact in the 100+ countries where we work. Prior to assuming this position, Dr. Senefeld served as the Project Director for a USAID funded global project, Coordinating Comprehensive Care for Children (4Children), where she led a team of experts to address children’s focused programming, including deinstitutionalization, in a variety of countries in sub-Saharan African and Asia. Dr. Senefeld has lived and worked overseas in multiple countries such as Haiti, Malawi, and Cameroon. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Senefeld specializes in child and family assessment and intervention. In addition to her international work, she is on the medical faculty at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She has published and presented extensively on international children’s issues and the importance of strengthened family care for optimal child outcomes. Dr. Senefeld holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a masters in Clinical Psychology, a masters in International Development, and two bachelor degrees in French and Political Science.
