Jennifer Lazuta
Regional Communications Officer for Central Africa

Jen Lazuta is the Regional Communications Officer for the Central Africa region at Catholic Relief Services. She is the primary contact for media, proactively linking journalists with compelling stories about CRS’ work. Jen has traveled extensively throughout the region, reporting stories on various topics, including health, peacebuilding, education, nutrition, emergency response and agriculture.
Before joining CRS, Jen worked for many years as a freelance journalist, covering primarily health and humanitarian issues, and then as a communications specialist for a medical NGO. As a former Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso, she has been based in Dakar, Senegal since 2012. She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in economics and literature from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Chicago.
