Year of Faith: God Who Has Opened the Door of Faith

"From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. And they stayed there a long time with the disciples."

—Acts 14:26–28

Leader: God who has opened the door of faith…

     All: …help me walk through.

Leader: As the gift of faith is of greater worth than gold…

All: …help me be ever-grateful for the inheritance our ancestors in the faith have left me.

Leader: As faith without works is dead…

All: …help my works be just and charitable, and so allow my faith to live.

Leader: As faith is the substance of things hoped for…

All: …help my hope to blossom more fully.

Leader: As faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains…

All: …help me to put aside the chaff in my life to find the seeds from which my faith can spring.

Leader: And if indeed I do find a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

All: And so I beg you to couple my faith with an undying love.

All: Help this Year of Faith be a year of growth for my spirit, for the Church's spirit, for the spirit of humanity.

Leader: God who has opened the door of faith…

     All: …help me walk through.
