Venezuela's project focuses on three program sectors: civil society strengthening, health, and housing rehabilitation.

Health
The project's health component provides access to primary and preventative health care for approximately 100,000 people in areas at highest risk for disease. The project has established community dispensaries and health outreach and advocacy teams in three dioceses.
Housing Rehabilitation
The housing rehabilitation component is helping 2,000 people rebuild their homes by providing construction materials and organizational support for community building campaigns.
Civil Society
The project's civil society component aims to strengthen the capacity of the Venezuelan Church to build a more active and engaged civil society, and to develop permanent mechanisms for citizen participation and oversight of public planning and policy development processes.
This project will run through March 2003, after which CRS plans to transition into longer-term, civil-society and peacebuilding work.
