Peacebuilding in the Light of Easter

You are here

On Easter Sunday, when Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection of the Prince of Peace, we find the fulfillment of humanity's hope.

This year, Easter falls in April, the anniversary of the Rwandan, Armenian and Cambodian genocides—some of the worst in modern history. It's a month when we recognize Holocaust Remembrance Day and the Siege of Sarajevo. It's a month when we recognize that violent conflict persists across the globe in countries like Syria, South Sudan and the Central African Republic.

Catholic Relief Services is committed to building peace overseas. So, during this month of Easter, we will be sharing stories about our peacebuilding work. You will discover why reconciliation, social justice and conflict resolution are integral to all that we do. CRS supports people struggling to survive in war-torn countries by easing their fears and anxiety, by helping them live in dignity.

Please join us as we celebrate the resurrection of the Prince of Peace with stories, photos and updates about peacebuilding. We believe you will feel solidarity with our brothers and sisters facing the threat of violence around the world. And we hope that you are inspired to pray, act and give as you learn about CRS programs that are changing lives every day.
