Higher Level Diplomacy

Catholic Relief Services' close relationship with the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops and with international Catholic Church leaders allows it to easily support their peacebuilding activities. For example, CRS and the Colombian Church are generating awareness and support for Colombia's negotiated peace processes with the U.S. government and public.

A second example is a meeting CRS co-sponsored in 2000 that brought Bishops and religious leaders from Central America and Africa together to discuss conflict resolution. Other countries where CRS is engaged in higher-level diplomacy and advocacy work include Cuba, Haiti and Nigeria.
