Through partnerships with local government and civil society entities – including both faith-based and secular organizations, we are able to strengthen the capacity of the organizations in the countries where we work and show that strong institutions with capable staff can design, implement, evaluate, and sustain effective development interventions.
CRS’ approach to strengthening the capacity of our local partners has three main components:
- Build upon the existing capacity of individuals and teams, enhancing or developing new knowledge, skills and attitudes to improve performance
- Enhance or develop the systems and structures that institutions need to function effectively, adopt sound business process, work toward sustainability, and achieve their goals
- Accompany the people and partner organizations that we serve by providing coaching, mentoring and other methods of continuous learning; following capacity building and institutional strengthening interventions such as workshops, organization design or on-the-job training
