2015 Egan Journalism Fellowship
The deadline for applications is April 30, 2015.
Apply now for Catholic Relief Services' coveted 2015 Egan Journalism Fellowship. All journalists working in Catholic media are encouraged to apply for an international reporting trip to the Philippines, one of 101 countries where CRS works.
CRS and Catholic Church partners in the Philippines are carrying out one of its largest disaster recovery programs ever, while supporting thousands of people facing the effects of climate change and poverty.
Egan fellows will travel to the Philippines for 1 to 2 weeks to report on the aftermath of the 2013 Super Typhoon Haiyan, the effects of changing climate and the role of the Catholic Church in this disaster-prone country.
CRS will announce the recipients of the fellowship at the annual Catholic Media Conference, held June 24—26 in Buffalo, New York.
"The trip's impact is still unfolding for me and probably will continue to do so for quite some time. I've come home more committed to showing my fellow Americans what war really means for those under its bombs. And that, I think, is a Catholic mission."Claire Schaeffer-Duffy, freelance journalist (reporting on the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and Jordan, 2014)
