The National Secretariat for Social Ministry
The National Secretariat for Social Ministry (SNPS) is a member organization of the Caritas Internationalis Confederation and leads the Catholic Church's Pastoral for Peace and Human Rights at the national level. SNPS has been an important force in the strengthening and empowerment of civil society, in promoting a culture of peace, and in supporting dioceses in their efforts to advance peacebuilding and human rights. The Human Mobility (Migration) Pastoral advocates for the rights of people displaced by the conflict in Colombia. In addition to supporting the dioceses in their pastoral plans, SNPS engages in awareness campaigns on a national level, including the annual Week for Peace, International Human Rights Day, Nonviolence Toward Women Day, the Day of Prayer for Peace, Migrants Day, national reconciliation congresses, and other broad-based efforts for peace.
