Application Process
Serving as a Catholic Relief Services Volunteer is both rewarding and challenging. It takes flexibility, hard work, patience, a sense of humor, and dedication. While the application process is not as challenging as serving as a CRS Volunteer, the qualities that make an effective volunteer will also be useful in the lengthy application process, which can take six to nine months to complete. But as with volunteering, the rewards are greater than the challenges.
If you have looked through the Web site and think the CRS Volunteer Program might be what you are looking for in a volunteer program, you may wish to complete the "Are You Qualified?" questions and, if appropriate, the Preliminary Application (between September and December each year). All individuals wishing to be considered for the CRS Volunteer Program must submit a Preliminary Application online. The next step following the Preliminary Application for applicants invited to continue the application process is a telephone discussion in which the application process and applicants' preliminary questions are addressed.
The application process for 2008 Volunteer placement consideration is now open. Preliminary Applications are being accepted through December 2007. The application process can take up to six to nine months to complete.
Please note: The Volunteer Program is currently going through a review process, which is scheduled to be completed by December 2007. The length and structure of the overseas and U.S. components are potentially subject to change based on this review process. Applications are being accepted with the understanding that the Volunteer Program may change. Potential changes to the Volunteer Program will be communicated at this location once this information becomes available in December 2007.
